Regional Historical Museum - Pazardzhik

Regional History Museum - Pazardzhik is among the most authoritative museums in Bulgaria with its over 100-year history and more than 95,000 artifacts. Created in 1911 as a museum attached to the "Videlina" community center, it went through various stages - amateur initiative, community center and state museum, to become today a modern cultural institute with the status of a regional museum. The museum presents the rich heritage of Pazardzhik and the region from prehistory to modern history through various exhibitions: • In the "Archaeology" hall, priceless finds from prehistory, Antiquity and the Middle Ages are exhibited. • "Revival" hall introduces us to the struggle for church independence, enlightenment and national liberation. • In the "New History" hall, the history of the city of Pazardzhik from the Liberation to the middle of the 20th century is shown. • Ethnographic exposition, which is located in an impressive revival house from 1850, reveals the wealth of traditional culture from Thrace, the Central Highlands and the Rhodopes. • "Konstantin Velichkov" house museum presents the life and work of the notable revivalist. • Yunatsite settlement mound impresses us with unique finds from the Chalcolithic and Bronze Age. It is defined by specialists as the earliest city in Europe (approx. 4700–4600 BC).
