The frightened bunny went home, never to enter that awful garden again, with those awfully delicious lettuces, and that awfully scary Mr. McGregor. Stara Zagora Puppet Theater is a 9-time winner of the IKAR national theater award for puppetry! In its more than 69-year history, more than 500 titles by Bulgarian and international authors, writing for children and adults, have been staged on its stage. The theater is the winner of 9 awards "Stara Zagora - for high artistic and creative achievements in the spiritual life in the Municipality of Stara Zagora" and 5 awards of the Ministry of Culture for high results achieved in the field of theater management and creative activity. Stara Zagora Puppet Theater is the creator and host of the international puppet theater festival for adults "PIERO". This is the only international festival in Bulgaria dedicated entirely to puppet theater for adults. Stara Zagora Puppet Theater organized and held the only international architectural competition of its kind in Bulgaria for the conceptual project of the Center for Experimental Puppet Art. The competition aroused exceptional international interest, as 98 projects from different countries around the world participated in it.
