The performance "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is a journey between love and illusion. A world where the connections between reality and fantasy intertwine. In her interpretation of this magical comedy, director Diana Dobreva creates a visually captivating spectacle in which the classic text combines with poetic imagery, contemporary aesthetics and music to reveal timeless themes of love, desire and the confused human world. The forest comes alive, elves and fairies whisper forgotten truths, and the characters - lost in love triangles and confused passions - search for themselves in a dream that is more real than reality. The fantastic does not run away from the dramatic, and humor also shows human vulnerability. Highly visual and emotional, the performance places the viewer at the heart of a tale of love, metamorphosis and liberation. A Midsummer Night's Dream is a play about the power of imagination and dreams against reality and the law. The piece is like a faceted ball that provides different mirrored perspectives and endless interpretations. The visible flirts with the invisible, the real with illusion, the dream with nightmare, order with chaos, desire with love. The main action of the play takes place in the forest near Athens. The forest as a place where you can escape from the law, a place where the unconscious, the subconscious can be freed and hidden desires and passions can be given free rein. That's why our forest in the play is different, the stage space is more of a maze of the subconscious, or as Shakespeare says in the play "…..only a sleepy jumble in your brain box". A Midsummer Night's Dream is also Shakespeare's reflection on the theater, the conclusion of which is: Anything is possible if you can imagine it. For me, A Midsummer Night's Dream is a celebration of the Theatre, containing within itself different genres, mythologies, storylines, united by the free and generous scope of the imagination. - Diana Dobreva
