Nomination for the VARNA award for outstanding achievements in the field of culture for 2024 for the team of the Drama Theater "Stoyan Bachvarov" - Varna for the creative work in the performance "Under the Yoke" based on one of the most emblematic Bulgarian plots and its transformation into a stage work that touches, provokes thought, instills pride and inspires hope. "Under the Yoke" (1894) sounds remarkably contemporary because so many years later we have hardly changed and continue to have the same faults and virtues. We are divided into two - on the one hand, there are those devoted to the national cause, and on the other - the others, who are very careful that the interests of the nation do not violate their own interests. In our attempt to be truly free, 33 years ago we repeated the same mistakes that our people went through in the approaches to the April Uprising. This is what we are trying to tell with our performance - how little we have changed and how important it is to be together, to be a people and not just a population. Bina Haralampieva

The Summer Theatre in the Sea Garden of Varna is an open-air stage with a capacity of over 2,500 seats, set among the greenery of the oldest seaside park in Bulgaria.
