„Swan Lake”
About this event
„Swan Lake” is one of the most fantastic and perfect creations in world art and the most famous ballet in the world. The story of „Swan Lake” begins in 1875, when the young but already renowned composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky was commissioned by the Bolshoi Theatre to compose for ballet. With his characteristic modesty, Tchaikovsky carefully studied the scores of existing ballets, striving – without breaking the established forms and traditions of ballet performance – to enrich and elevate their musicality. In his production, choreographer Sergei Bobrov strives not only to return formally to the original score, orchestration, libretto and elements of the choreography, but above all to preserve the original meaning anchored in the ballet's musical dramaturgy.
