"Butterflies and Diamonds" Exhibition

Burgas is waiting for one of the most significant artistic events of this summer. On July 31, at 6:30 p.m., the "Butterflies and Diamonds" exhibition will be officially opened at the Sea Casino Cultural Center, which brings together works by four of the most influential British contemporary artists - Sir Peter Blake, Marc Quinn, Damien Hirst and The Connor Brothers. The exhibition is organized by DG Art Gallery, successor to the Gallery of Modern Art and Vivacom Art Hall Oborishte 5, and is part of the cultural calendar of the Municipality of Burgas and the initiatives related to the city's candidacy for the European Capital of Culture. Admission to the official opening is free. During the opening, the young performers Darina Hadzhieva and Yavor Grudov from the vocal studio "Sundrops" with vocal teacher Maria Miteva will greet the guests with two musical performances. Visitors will have the opportunity to see works by some of the most iconic names in contemporary British art. Sir Peter Blake, among the founding fathers of pop art, is world famous as the co-author of the legendary album cover Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles. Mark Quinn, one of the leading figures of the Young British Artists movement, explores the themes of identity, nature and the human body in his work. Damien Hirst is among the most influential contemporary artists in the world, known for his provocative works on life, death, science and faith. The Connor Brothers impress with their signature style that combines retro imagery with witty and provocative lyrics that have become their trademark. The unifying theme of the exhibition is the butterfly and the diamond – symbols of beauty, transformation, eternity and the value of life, which are present in a different way in the work of each of the four authors. The exposition will be presented in the "Alexander Georgiev - Kodjakafaliyata" and "Georgi Baev" halls of the Cultural Center "Morsko Casino" and will be available for viewing from August 1 to 31, every day from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. After the official opening, the exhibition will be visited with tickets: 5 euros – for adults; 2.5 euros – for pupils, students and pensioners; Free entry - for children up to 7 years old and people with disabilities. For the third year in a row, DG Art Gallery and Cultural Center "Sea Casino" present in Burgas a collector's exhibition with world-renowned authors. After exhibitions devoted to Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Juan Miró, Andy Warhol, Jim Dine and Stephen Wilson, this year's edition turns its gaze to Britain and some of the most influential representatives of contemporary art.
