PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE INITIATIVE DECLARATION We, the organizers of the Sunday People from the "People for the People" initiative, declare that we do not recognize and distance ourselves from the manifestation of the group playing in front of the Ivan Vazov National Theater. Sunday people are played all over Bulgaria and we believe in their value for the preservation and popularization of Bulgarian folklore. Years ago, we distanced ourselves from the specific event due to its political commitment and inappropriate location. The loud sound, the inappropriate vision and the way it was conducted lead to an understandable negative attitude on the part of passers-by and visitors to the Theatre, which, however, reflects unfairly on all of us. This happens despite our repeated appeals to the organizers to vacate the square in front of the National Theater, which were ignored. Let us distinguish between the Bulgarian tradition and its specific use. One group does not represent all of us. Even when it is in the most prominent place in the country! We support Bulgarian folklore. We do not support this particular manifestation.
