About this event

AMADEUS is an emotional and harrowing tale of a genius and his shadow. About the light of talent and the darkness of envy. Salieri's deep and personal confession to the world. MOZART and SALIERI's paths crossed in Vienna and this meeting changed their lives forever. Stajko Murjev's performance tells a stylish and fascinating story about art as freedom and as a challenge to God. In the reading of the director Stajko Murdjev (ICAR 2020 for directing), the famous Italian ANTONIO SALIERI, Chief Kapellmeister in the imperial court of JOSEPH II, is Stoyan Radev, winner of the ICAR for leading male role. The role of the great Austrian composer will be played by Nencho Kostov, winner of the "Askeer" for a rising star. "With Peter Schaffer, things are polar, but at the same time they are unified in their polarity, if I may say so. He builds Mozart as - as he himself calls it - a cynical and vulgar child who does stupid things and leads a low moral life, while at the same time he creates extraordinary music, which is actually his inner light. And the even bigger wound in the show is Salieri. We are used to thinking about Salieri as a that single-minded envious and jealous person, and in fact, Peter Shaffer offers us under this mask a person who fights for justice, who stands up for his justice, would defend it even before God. The story that we lead with the actors is actually a story about the fight with God through Mozart," the director shared in an interview with Violeta Toncheva.
