„Sofia – European Capital of Sport“ and Sofia Municipality invite you to Vitosha Summer Fest 2026. The 12th edition of the sports celebration takes place on 12 July, Sunday, in front of the Momina Skala hut and includes mountain biking and mountain running with an attractive prize fund, a hiking trek, a free alpine zip line over the Boyana River, folk dances, songs, raffles, many games with prizes and good spirits. Registration for the competitions is free of charge. A registration link will be announced a month before the festival on the website and Facebook of „Sofia – European Capital of Sport“. There you will find the regulations, detailed information, a map of the routes and details about the free transport, and there will be a special bus to transport the bicycles. The good mood in front of the Momina Skala hut will be taken care of by the renowned folk singer Alex Kostov; a laureate of international competitions, he has prepared the best of his repertoire. There will be many groups performing folk dances, and members of several well-known mountaineering song ensembles are also preparing their own songs to present. The celebration will be joined by representatives of the Bulgarian Tourist Union, of Vitosha Nature Park, as well as members of the clubs for health and active longevity. DISCIPLINES: - Mountain running competition – start at 11.00 on the 14 km „Kumata“ route - Mountain biking competition - start at 11.10 over 7 or 21 km (one or three laps depending on the age group) on the „Kopitoto“ route - Hiking trek – start at 11.20 on the 3.5 km „I Love Vitosha“ route for about 2 hours AGE GROUPS: For running and cycling: boys and girls (16-18 yrs), men and women (19-40 yrs); veterans men and women (40+); For the trek: No restrictions ROUTES: Along a traditional route set by the organisers for the different disciplines by sport: ENTRY FEE: Participants are exempt from entry fees.
