About this event
For the first time, Bulgaria will host the World Jet Ski Championship, having competed against countries with a strong tradition in this sport such as France, Italy, the Czech Republic and Belgium. The spectacular competition will take place in Burgas, and Mayor Dimitar Nikolov confirmed our city's readiness to be a co-organizer of the event together with the local club “Aquatrax Racing” and the Bulgarian Federation of Powerboat Sports. The federation's chairman, Todor Hristov, emphasized the significance of the event for the region – both for its economic impact and its international publicity – and thanked the Municipality for the successful cooperation over the past five years. The competition will be held under the patronage of Mayor Dimitar Nikolov, while the “Aquatrax Racing” club will be responsible for the sporting part of the event. More than 300 participants from around the world will take part in the competition, and the spectators and fans are expected to exceed 5,000 people each day. The event will be accompanied by a rich cultural program that will attract both competitors and tourists, promoting jet ski sport and Burgas as a host city. A special media team from “Eurosport” will broadcast the races live, with a worldwide audience expected to exceed 100 million viewers. Sarafovo Beach was approved as the venue for the event thanks to its excellent logistics, natural features and the possibilities it offers for ensuring the safety of spectators and participants. The dates are already fixed in the international calendar – from 8 to 12 July 2026.
