About this event

ART MARCONI GALLERY Awarded the Varna Award 2022. Represents 08.10. – 28.10.2025 "ATTENDANCE - 13" Painting exhibition On DIMITAR MANOLOV Opening 18.30 08.10.2026 Art Marconi Gallery, 22 Ohrid Street, Varna "Presence" is a mission exhibition with which Art Marconi Gallery and Maya Manolova - the daughter of Dimitar Manolov, have been reminding of this extremely interesting and iconic author for thirteen years. I am satisfied that our persistence has managed to attract many new connoisseurs who have discovered for themselves the unique talent and handwriting of the maestro. The huge collection of works that he left is greatly reduced. Regardless of the fact that it is always difficult to part with his paintings, I am glad that in this way new horizons are opened for his painting. I feel the admiration with which people look at the canvases, the respect for his experimental spirit, I experience their delight that they have come across an artist with a unique style and aesthetic. In the next exhibition, the focus will again be on the female body. This time, in the selection we have made, we will direct the audience's attention not so much to figural expressiveness, perspective solutions or breaking the form. We'd like to shift the focus to the palette. The complex nuances in the mixing of colors, the smooth overflow, the immersion in sfumato or the sharp, distinct, geometric demarcation, reveal the inimitable painterly language of Dimitar Manolov. Impulsive, expressive, impressive and mesmerizing, it overflows in all possible tones. The gushing moods connect us with his searching and indomitable spirit, daring to break rules to build new, unpredictable spaces and compositions, to impose his personal and captivating aesthetic. "Presence/13" will also mark the 94th year since the birth of Dimitar Manolov. Vanya Markova/Art Marconi Gallery 2026 Dimitar Manolov Born in 1932 in Varna, where he lives and works. He works in the field of painting - marine themes, landscape, nude painting, figurative composition, still life and portraiture. He is a member of the SBH. His tireless brush and searching creative spirit, which did not leave him until the last moment of his life, left a rich heritage of paintings. He celebrated his 80th anniversary in 2012 with a spectacular exhibition in the "Grafit" gallery/Varna, whose halls were filled to capacity. In each of his canvases, one can feel the free creator, unencumbered by the conventions of time and fashion trends, experimenting boldly and with a swing. He rested on June 24, 2013 in Varna.
